I decided to enter the challenge as a hopeful newbie. I've built a lot of necks and finger boards for Cigar Box and Tin Resonator instruments, but have little experience with building full-scale-start-to-finish stringed instruments. I will have to challenge the term "local" to mean "wood that's already on my shelf". I have several species to choose from, and some of it may very well be local...who knows? I have several projects underway, and will post photos and other documentation, but probably won't decide which one is the actual entry until I see which one is less embarrassing. |

Welcome, and please be sure to post lots of pictures, and ask lots of questions along the way.... Can't wait to see your finished instrument. |
